win xp pro toshiba laptop recently began giving error message when trying to download certain types of files. no other problem using web. can download most other things. Very odd that can open previously downloaded and saved pdf files. Have made no recent changes to computer setup. have norton AV and zone alarm running

have to see whats blocking, norton or zone or windows. can reset windows security settings.

who is the error message from? Most likely it's norton trying to avert a disaster on your pc. Do you know the author's of these exe files?
If you are completly sure and want to do it anyway then turn off norton for a minute and try again, it will work.

there's no problem with your computer or your internet connection :: try to disable ur antiviruses ::
or if you know how , check the settings on your antivirus ::
