Something like this maybe the answer.
Make a network extension cord out of two 10Base-T Cat 5 network patch cables with an RJ-45 coupler. Both jacks accept one RJ-45 plug, allowing you to plug an Ethernet cable into both sides.

You have got to be best off going for a wireless connection - then you can have the PC anywhere in the house you want it, and even get a wireless enabled laptop to have a computer outside. You will need a wireless router ( a sort of external modem) and wireless adaptors for your computer(s). These can usually be purchased as a kit. Your wireless router will have to be plugged into a phone socket, but the PC does not have to be near it. That is the set I have, and I am very happy with it. Good luck.

you could buy a phone extension lead as long as it is not more than 10 metres long jt will not affect your reception. or you can buy a wireless router if your computer has the capability which you can find out from the shop where you bought the computer from.

Go wireless. You'll need a wireless router or wireless access point to connect to your modem and a wireless card for your pc.
