Why is the monitor of my laptop partly blacked out on the far right side?

it's a widescreen laptop

you may need to center the screen. Go to the video card options and look for the adjustments tab

Could it have been stepped on or dropped? If the warranty is still good then call the company who made it and see about getting it fixed.If it's still under warranty then they should fix it for free and the shipping charges should be covered too.
