it seem like everytime i call a tech support center for some help, the people there are more clueless than i am. and i contact them by email ... for get it. i find when i contact them by email, the responce i get was not the question i asked or they will ask me questions that i already answered in the original email if they had bothered to read it.

I just bought a Cd on the net, and it came today. I thought it didnt work because i put it in my computer and my computer doesnt register it at all.
but i tried it in my friends dvd player and it works fine, but not on her computer either.
why is this, i dont have a cd player at uni so its really annoying.
the cd is carla bruni and its french and not a copy.

I was given an wedding dvd to make a copy of. I have the sonic program that I use to make exact copies. But when I try to copy this disk it tells me the format does not match to the blank disk i put in..
When i open up the dvd, there are .TS files in there. Does anyone know how I can copy this.
The disk I was given has no markings on it, but from the purpulish color of the disk side, not lable, it matches the color of my blank dvd, so i assume it is a dvd and not a vcd.
if you need anymore info just ask.

I am torn over which laptop to get:

The one with the bigger hard drive (100gb)
The one with the faster processor (1.8ghx is that good?)
The one with the most ram (1024)
or the one with the DVD+R burner in it.

I know ram can be added later, if there's room, and DVD+R should be easy enough to pop in, so how important is processor speed?. Prices being about the same, which would you go for.

All advice welcomed.

I have another computer that was working fine but now all it does when i turn it on is keep Restarting over & over & wont load windows. I can't use the restore disc because it wont load. Anyone know what could of happened?

I have a friend who has an old Mac and wants to transfer all of his files from the old mac to the new one. I thought I could do this via firewire cable but the old mac does not have a plug for it, it only has 2 usbs, phone and ethernet. I tried with a cross over cat 5 cable and that didn't work either. Is there another fix to this? He also wants to transfer his old emails too. Maybe there is a program out there that might do this? Thanks

It is a "Brother" brand fax machine. All of a sudden we aren't receiving faxes...We can send out faxes but when someone is trying to fax us, it says "Receiving Pg 1" on ours but on the sender's fax machine it comes up with a "communication error." We have been able to receive 1 or 2 faxes since this problem started, and we are able to print off the machine.....But does anyone know why we aren't receiving faxes?

You know those websites where they offer you a free item if you answer a "survey" . One of the prerequesits of receiving the free item is completing three or more of their "offers". All of them usually require a credit card. Is there a "generic" credit card number you can put in so you don't have to use your real number? ??? I'm curious.
You know once you put your info in you will either get more spam or your creidt card number could be comprimised. Answers??
