Who are you donating gold to?

If you're donating gold to a person, then you use the trading feature. Simple click on the gold amount and change it to your desired donation.

If you're donating gold to a guild, there is a spot at the bottom of the guild homepage where you can input how much you want to donate, and handle it that way.
