you'll know when your cookies are deleted by having to reenter things like logins and passwords that may have been saved previously (like your bank access) or your favorite pages no longer say "welcome (your name) on them.

Also, the first time you go to one of your favorite pages it will take longer to load the first time you go to it.

The purpose of deleting the files is twofold: it helps speed up your computer by eliminating the junk and it also gets rid of stuff like personal information that may be insecurely stored on the computer.

u can always go to search/ files or folder
then type cookies or temporory cookies the hit enter
it will tell u where the cookies folder is , then u click on the folder
so u can view if there are any cookies left..

now y do we have to delete them? here's why?

cookies might allow access to personally identifiable information that could be used for a secondary purpose without your consent.
it can share lot of your personal info when u r online.

you could always go and manually delete them

C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\Cookies

but try to use a shredder like the one that comes with tune-up utilities, just because you deleted something doesnt mean it's gone.

also in firefox you could set it that it deletes all history/cookies upon exiting.

You can never delete anything off your pc. completely. It may seem that stuff is gone but it's still there. It's just in a different spot.
