Hey, I have this slow **** emachines computer that im trying to overclock, ive figured out that with the current bios. So im looking for a bios that will work with my chipset that is full featured and allows me to change clock speeds.

My system is

eMachines - T3516

My mobo is -ECS (elitegroup) RC410-M

And my current BIOS is- AMI (american megatrends) V.080012

I REALLY need to mess with tha clock speeds its annoying not to be able to so any help is appreciated. THANKS! Please at least try to help, and before ya post i am aware of the risks accociated with messing in the bios and overclockering its why i have a spare mobo sitting around :)

I recently bought GTA :San Andreas and want to install it onto my portable hard drive. The problem is that I move the hard drive around and the computers that I use assign different letters to the drive. Because of this, I don't think that the game will work on those computers. Is there a way of removing all the drive references and replace them with the names of the current computer? If not, I will return it (unopened) and buy something else.

PS . I no a solution to fix it..which is booting from a cd and selecting repair or w/e. Dont give Answer saying that please. I no.

Heres the stich my friend opened a program that wnhe u did EVEYThing shut off. next time he try to boot it says its missing that or corrupted.

He doesnt' have a boot disk ATM. So what my idea was since he has Two PC he could get the HARD drive from the virused one and put it in the working pc. Then boot from the correct HD. Then what I think he could do was go to HIS own NTLDR copy and paste it to the OTHER hardrive..

Is that a good thing? I have no CPu experience at all. but to me ..this seems logical..

Can I do that.

My computer currently is not showing any video output, my monitor just states "No Signal." I thought at first it was the video card so I decided to install the old one to give that a try. With the other video card installed it still did not work; I than tried changing cables and tried changing monitors. Both of these did not work. I am wondering what is the problem, and what I should foucus on to fix the problem?

My laptop's been in use for 3 years and i feel like it's time to do a bit of precautionary work in case the hdd dies on me. :)

Can i get an extra 2.5' HDD that is the same capacity as my existing one in the laptop, put that in an enclosure, connect to my laptop as an external USB drive, and run IDE RAID with the internal hard drive and the one connected by USB?

In case the internal hdd dies, i can easily put the ext. one in and boot my system without any problems right?

Apparently the PSU's that come with cases are just flimsey paperweights that are useless.
Im using a 160gb hardrive,a geforce 7600gt graphics card, amd x2 3800+ cpu and a msi motherboard.

I dont know what PSU i require, as i've been told that alot of PSU's that come pre-installed with cheap £20 cases are naff and if it cant cope i could potentially damage some expensive pc components.
I dont want to know how many watts i need or anything like that, i know ill will want at least 350w, refferably 400-450w. But i want a decent PSU that will be reliable and run all my components sufficiently.

http://www.cclonline.com/product-inf...&tid=hpu-4s435

thats what i've been told ill need although i wasnt planning to spend more on my case a psu than i am on my cpu!

So please dont answer unless you know abit about this, as i said before i dont want you just to do a search a find the cheapest 450w one for like £5 or something.

I have an EVGA 7950 GT (512 MB) video card and a 7900 GT (256 MB) video card. I need to know if I can couple these together in SLI for better performance? I thought I had heard that any cards in the same series could be coupled in SLI mode and I dont care if Im forced to use only 256 MB of RAM or if they run at the slowest speed between the 2 cards.

If it is possible, can anyone tell me how to do this please? I have the SLI bridges from both cards, do I need both and which card and which of the 2 DVI slots (as there are 2 per card) do I attach my monitor to?

Thanks a ton in advance for your answer and possibly saving me alot of money.

The 7300 GS EVGA seems good with all its ratings and requires 250W power supply, has 550 MHz core clock and 533 MHz memory clock. Has 256MB GDDR2 video memory.

The 7300 GS Sparkle seems exacly like the one above but it doesnt have any reviews or ratings. Has core clock 550 MHz and 256MB DDR2. This cards information states it has DirectX 10 Technology.

The last one 8400 GS card has no reviews but seems its the newest, has DirectX10 support which is good for future gaming , etc. It has 256MB DDR2 memory and 450 MHz core clock and 800 MHz memory clock. It costs exacly/or even less then the older first one.

Which is best and what do the different memories mean? (DDR2, GDRR2) which is better too?

Asking this question repeatedly from the last 15-20 days. So far not successful in solving this problem. Please help.

My UPS stops working for a second when ever the power is cut and then starts working but the damage has been done.

I have just replaced the battery of my UPS but when the power is cut, the computer (sometimes) shuts down for a second and then restarts but it already causes the problem because I lose all the data.

I am from India & have the best available UPS connected to my IBM Think Centre desktop & 15" TFT monitor.

Please note that it happens sometimes and not always.

I have already taken these measures:-

a) I have replaced the old batteries of UPS just recently by new and genuine ones.
b) Tried changing the power output point (from where UPS takes power supply.
c) Have verifyied my UPS by installing UPS of my friend, the problem remains.

What is the reason of this problem and how can I solve it?

From what I understand there's a 137GB HDD limit on some motherboards based on a 28bit LBA. Depending on the board, the BIOS can be flashed to 48bit, and newer boards just come as 48bit LBA.

Is there an easy way to determine this from reading online specs? I'm asking this because sometimes I'll build a computer and all the newer drives are huge and the computers I get are around that update time. (Around 1999-2001)

I know an IDE card would do this too but I'd really like to know.
