Question, how reliable is "Ultra Ram". And, is it compatible with my motherboard? I was reading somewhere that a person had trouble with "Ultra" Ram in his Asus motherboard. Just wondering if it was coincidental.

The ram I want is...

Specifications

Memory Size 512MB

Memory Speed 400MHz PC3200

Memory CAS Latency 3

Memory Type DDR

Pins 184

My motherboard is, ASUS P4SD-VX. I can support the PC3200 ram, but, is it compatible statistically?

The new card does not have a power cord and I am installing it so that I can run 2 monitors. If the new card does not work and I have disabled the onboard card how will I see what is going on to re enable the onboard card. I am totally freaked about disabling the onboard. I have gotten to the point of doing it and just can't make myself in fear of the inability to see what is going on....should I call the geeksquad?

I'm looking at purchasing a SATA HD enclosure (tray) for backup purposes. An important feature is for the drive to be hot-swappable. However, I don't have any RAID controller, just a SATA controller.

Is the RAID controller required for this hot-swap feature to work?

Assuming I have the available space, how many internal IDE hard drives can I install in my computer? What will each be called if I have 3 total (one primary and two secondary's) and how should the jumper switches be set? Is this common practice and is it advisable? If not, why not?

MY "rig? if u can call it that, came with windows preinstalled on my hard drive, so i dont need the microsoft disks. I am wondering if i cam upgrade just the motherboard, simply to come from an agp to pci 16x.

I currently, have the following:
p4 2.8. cpu with HT (fsb 800) (stock)
1gb ddr (400) ram (orig was 512, another 512 came later)
ATI all in wonder x800xt (256mb) AGP (bought later)
1x 100gb maxtor (bought later)
1x 120gb seagate(stock)

asus micro atx mobo

SO can i put in a new mobo and keep everything else same? (other than video of course).
