Ummm, a couple months ago, I could change (customize) the setting of the URL addresses corressponding to the shortcut buttons on my keyboard; now, the tab that controls that in the keybaord menu under Control Panel is gone! Can I get it back, where did it go?

ok how do u find out which type of usb ports u have?? i went into device manager all it shows is two usb root hubs and two via usb universal host controller any idea how to find out or is there any software thatl tell me thanks

My ethernet cord is connected to the modem and then through the adapter to the pc and it never stays connected long. If it gets a good connection, and the lights are on it will barely move and disconnect. This is my 3rd adapter and the one I have now has already broken where the small plastic cover is ., so I have it taped together, but the tapes starts coming off and I refuse to buy another Linksys. What else works?

it is a maxtor II external drive, i'm using the USB interface vs. de firewire, it had lots of data i unplugged then when i pluggen back in, it tell me that the drive is not formated. scary!!! what to do next? is there any software that will recover the data?

I have a PC which is dated 2002....it picks up on blank CD's and allows me to burn to them, however it doesnt pick up on blank DVD's and so i cant burn them?? Is it because my actual CD drive is too old and if so could you please point me in the right direction of some cheap dvd-r writter compatible drives!! THANKYOU!!

My 2 yr old Dell XPS shows up with the blue screen of "unmountable_boot_volume" error. I tried to use the repair function on the XP install disc which says it cannot find the hard drive. The dell diagnostics says a "return code 7". Dell says the HD is shot. Windows help says it might be a damaged master boot record. Can the boot record be repaired? I just want to be sure before I throw out this HD and all my data. Can a repair shop get it going if I take it out of the computer and leave it with them?

transfering files...?
hmm.. im trying to copy a file from my computer to my hp.. through the memorycard.. but whenever i "right click the file and click to send to thr momory card.. i keep getting the message.." cannot copy, the file is write protected.remove the write-protection or use another disk"... wad am i to do..... help me out..thanks..;)

In WMP, I'm trying to burn some songs, it shows that the songs chosen are burnt and, also on the CD, but when I place the CD in any CD Player, its not playing anything. I'm not sure what wrong with it. Could someone please assist me? Thanks for any help.

My network adapter got uninstalled from my desktop and when I connect it to the computer, my computer doesnt say "new hardware detected" like it should. Actually it doesnt do that with any external hardware. And when i click control panel-add hardware nothing happens. Someone help please I cant connect to the internet without it at home.

When i boot my computer the following message is viewed:

Showing the message, the monitor is turned to black and nothing is shown on the monitor. In this time the monitor led in still on.
My PC configuration is: Celleron 2GHz, 128 RAM, 80 Gb HDD, On board Graphics card.
Already I have done the following things:
1. started PC in safe mode,-->PC started normally,the welcome screen is appeared then the screen started flactuated, nothing is shown without mixed color of welcome screen.

2. Tried to setup new winXP--> same thing happend, screen flactuated.
3.Replaced the moniotor more than 5 times. All monitors do right with other PCs ie monitor is ok. All monitors are Philips 105S7.

What should i do now?

I have a laptop, and i have a bunch of movies on vhs that me and friends have made that i would like to have on a dvd. How do i go about doing this?.....what equipment will i need and what kind of software will i need to make like a dvd type movie myself? I would like to have software where i can make my own menu and other stuff you would see on a regular dvd.
