I own a Dell xps M1730, supposedly the ultimate gaming machine, i have over 350 gigs of memory and 4 gigs of ram, not to metion a duel processor. I am running windows vista ultimate. Usually the machine starts out fine, but if i open any programs, (word, itunes, games,etc...) after a period, say 20min to and hour and a half, my CPU usage will slowly rise to 100%. I have tried turing off the wireless router and internet connection all together, but this only slows the problem. I have heard that windows vista may be the cause and note that out of the box it runs over 90 processes. I have purchised the full version of McAfee. If anyone has had a similar problem or can help I would greatl appriciate it. I have reduced all the extra visual crap on vista to as basic as it can go but I still get the 100% CPU slow down, I am on the verge of downgrading to windows XP. Please help me!

Okai.. i have a my myspace Im active.. (meaning that is on use)
i see the lil bar on the bottom that says that is open... i open it..
and it goes all the way to the right... meaning that it does not appear on the screen.. that it has been send more far right to the screen.. i have tried alot of ways to recover it.. but don't know how..
i tried to make it big.. but can't make it big.. i tried moving it..
and i deleted and re downloaded it again.. and it still goes

I have windows vista and the HP Pavillion dv6000... how do I take pictures with this built in webcam? When I click the HP Pavillion Webcam folder, it only gives me the "uninstall" option. Additionally, when I try using the webcam on MSN, sometimes it says it isn't plugged in. What's going on here and how do i fix it? 10 points for the most helpful answer..

I currently have an HP Pavilion laptop (years old now, still working albeit slowly). It has a "Total Physical Memory" of 256mb and a "Total Virtual Memory" of 2gb.

What does each mean? Am considering replacing this laptop with a Macbook and have seen the most basic has an 80gb Hard-drive but I don't know which on the laptop to compare this with.

Can any body please help me clear up my confusion? Is 80gb (Macbook) low, average or high in terms of capacity? I have loads and loads of photos and music to store and do lots of web design (basic) so need to be sure of the memory capacity.

first i did an online test at crucial,they recomended a upgrade,ordered 2* 1gb 240-pin dimm 128*64 ddr2 pc2-4200 unbuffered for my compaq presario sr 1909uk system,i i removed my 512 memory,and installed both the new chips,trouble is my system only see 1gb,i swapped them round so i know they both work,i did plenty of research so i did not mess up,my bios is up to date,i contacted crucial via email this morning,but with it being the busy season it will be new year before they can answer my email,just wanted to know if you have any ideas of what i missing with this one,cheers guys and girls. if you need to reset your laptop back to factory settings, how do you do it please? the reason why i ask is because on my laptop on windows xp i had the vaio recovery tool so i could reset it back to factory settings and just put my programs in. now i have upgraded to windows vista with a custom install and have put all the divers and utilities etc from the discs sony sent me but their was no vaio recovery tool on the discs. they don't have that tool they said for vista. so if anything goes wrong i cannot reset it to start at the beginning with all the drivers in, i have to keep puttung the xp boot disc in and do all the updates and then install vista and do all them updates everytime. aaaaghhh!!!! what a nightmare. any ideas? thanks in advance

My new laptop crashes with windows vista! I have 2 gigs of ram. Vista came installed on my dell. It has top of the line graphics card and top of the line intel core duo. It will crash when surfing the web or just working with word perfect! One more crash and I am sending it back. I have called support and we have done a sytem restore. So far that has worked for now!
