How can I install multiple operating systems into my laptop? Is it okay to have multiple OSs? I also have an external hard disk. Can I install an OS there? It is connected via USB. Can it boot other computers?

Good day... I am looking for a laptop that has the following specifications, and is also name brand:

I really need this laptop because im a fulltime student and im in love with editing music. Although im really short on money, I am in the $400-$600. It's so low because I still need to buy stuff for it like a cooling pad, case, and wireless mouse as well as a router. Thanks alot for your help.

HI there, our user has a acer laptop, we removed the hard drive from the laptop and then attached a USB converter to it.
Our plan was to use norton ghost 2003 to save all the data from that hard drive into an image. and transfer it to a much bigger hard drive.

I selected the "Backup" on norton ghost and tried backup the drive. The thing is it failed because ghost cannot find a USB driver.

Now once the pc was back to windows, i removed the hard drive from the USB connector and placed it back to the laptop.

To my surprise, my laptop won't boot up, so when i removed the hard drive again. put it back to the USB and cheked the contents, my drive was wipped out! C: and D: are clean. and when I try to open also the drive, it prompt me with this Drive not formatted.

Can anybody explain to me what happend? My boss was really upset with me, and I don't know what to say actually, They believe I messed up, but I don't even know how.

120GB harddrive.
i only have 500 bucks to spend on a laptop.
and i really just need it for a lot of my music. and my photoshop and instant messging programs.
is 120GB too much space? or should i get something smaller? i have no idea but 80GB sounds really small. and i have like 1000 songs.

Hi i am between a black macbook, a dell inspiron 1420 or a dell xps m1330. It is for a college student and I dont mind if I dont play games or not. What do you recommend from past experiences? Please take into account mobility such as weight size and battery life and performance.

I saw one online that I'm interested in, but have questions. Do they come with an ac adapter? Can I hook up my printer to it easily? Can I use my current cordless optical mouse with it? How long does a 6 cell, 8 cell, and 12 cell batter last? Any help is appreciated before I make my final decision.

I've had this laptop for about a year previously I owned a toshiba unit which I took out the hard drive that smelled oddly the same.

I have a 17'' macbook pro right now and it smells like a sweaty ***. I bought it brand new so no previous owners it does get alot of use I'd say opproximatly 8-10hrs a day 6 days a week. I can deal with the smell i guess doesn't get bad unless you sniff the keyboard but want to make sure its not a technical issue that could cause malfuction in the future. I will be going on a 2 month trip and using it to back up photos and keep in touch with the world if i can find internet access.

any help would be good

I am planning to get a macbook pro 15". Will the macbook pro be able to play all the high end graphics intensive games around without giving any system requirements error on dual boot with windows vista basic? have u tried out crysis,grand theft auto etc.

I have an Ipex 51 laptop (yes I know, old, old, old) and the battery life only runs for two hours, three if the screen is dimmed. This is fine when I'm at home, but when I'm travelling and need it, then its really annoying. My friend said its possible to get more batteries put in and it will run off those as well. For example i'm writing a 3 paragraph essay and im working on my 3rd paragraph and the cursor is just staying at the 1st paragrah whatever i'm typing in the 3rd paragrah types where the cursor is located in the 1st paragraph. So i have to cut and paste and move around.Very annoying! Please help? Oh yeah i clicked on control panel and mouse properties and i don't have the choice to disable the mousepad.
