Should have all the info on the makers web site under specifications. There is where I would start. You can also try searching for the units on line and find reviews. They will give that type of information. You can always call HP tech support and they will tell you.

The GeForce is a better video chip, no contests (the GMA X3100 is better than any of Intel's previous attempts at a video chip but it's still crap even compared to a lot of obsolete stuff from aTi and nVidia).

The Intel chip will steal some of that 2 GiB for it's framebuffer (it's called shared RAM because the graphics chip shares memory with the rest of the system) while the nVidia chip has it's own 128 MiB RAM that doesn't take away from the main RAM.

The dedicated Nvidia card is far better than the Intel X3100.

Dedicated means that there is a graphics card that has been added to the system to handle all the graphics. The graphics card will have its own memory to process all the graphics on your system. This is the one to pick if you intend to play a lot of games, or do other graphic-intensive stuff.

In contrast, the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 is built onto the motherboard of your computer, and shares the memory (RAM), and other resources of your system. If you do not need anything fancy, and just surf the net, type up documents, and suchforth, this is the one to pick. Its cheaper, and will not use up as much power.
