For a computer running windows xp or newer, click on your start button in the lower left of your screen. Select All Programs. Select Accessories. Select System Tools. Then select System Restore. This should take your computer back to the way it was when you first purchased it. If that doesnt work: ie you have never set a restore point to go back to, then you still have some options. A couple of which are described below.
IF your computer came with restore disks, run those. If not, after saving any files you wish to keep, erase your hard drive (aka) Format or F-disk, and then reinstall windows.
Each system has you perform that function a bit differently. Try Selecting "My Computer". Right click on the letter assigned to your hard drive (this is usually C by default). Select Format and follow the prompts.

in the "All Programs" menu there should be a folder called PC Health ... in there you'll see an option to restore your computer ... you want to do a Factory Restore which will take it back to as it was when you first bought it ... you need to go into Advanced when the window appears and do a Destructive Restore ... it will warn you that all your files will be deleted then reformat the hard-drive ... and reload all the original settings ... back-up anything you want to keep first to CD or DVD or an external drive ... Good Luck

insert your windows vista cd into your cd-rom drive..
restart your computer..
you must boot from CD-Rom Drive..
during startup, press "del" or "delete" key to enter setup..
select "boot"..
choose CD-Rom to boot first, for you to be able to install (reformat a your harddisk)..
save and then restart again..
you will be prompt.. "press any key to boot from CD..."
after striking any key, wait for the instructions..

all you gonna do is to re-format it..

dont forget to save your file into a cd, or usb especially those important files..
if you reformat your harddisk, all data will be erased..

goodluck..
