My friend just gave me an IBM think pad laptop, but something that says POWER SURGE ON HUB PORT and a usb device has exceeded the power limit of this hub port. but i don't have anything in the usb port or anything I know of so what is the problem

I own an HP and the drive is a,
HL-DT-ST-DVD-RW GWA-4080n, it will not recognize any blank DVDs when I try to burn video to then, but it will burn then to blank CDs. On the side it states that it is a DVD-rewritable drive, but I still can't burn to any blank DVDs. I have updated the driver, and still nothing. Any help??

I have an IBM R40 and the mouse pad section KEEPS right clicking even if I move a mouse over top of anything without me clicking anything it'll automatically right click no matter where I move the mouse.

I haven't done anything differently to the computer so I don't know why this is happening.

Besides getting a new computer how do I fix this problem?

I allready have 2 computers in my home that's on DSL .I purchased a used Dell Inspiron / 2200 laptop with windows xp . It had been set up on a prepaid Cingular Wireless ,so I took it to the shop and changed to hook up to my ethernet at home .When I turn it on it pops up previous owners name and password to log in .The only other thing I have been able to get to is , it says I need to have administraters password ,which I have but this is not fixing the problem .I called Dell and because the warrenty is out they want $ 50.00 an hour just to talk to me on the phone with info as to this problem . I even e-mailed Dell still with no results as to resolve this . What do I do ? I can't afford to take it to shop again .

last night i was on my computer and i didnt notice that the battery was going dead and it just shut off and i plugged it up and let it sit for a minute then i tried to turn it back on and it came on but it wouldnt let me access anything on my computer and today i tried it again and it still wont let me acses anyhting its like its frozen but the mouse moves and i closed it and it has took over 2 hours to go to stand by and it still hasnt done it yet i blew out everything to make sure it wasnt just dusty but it still wont work .if anybody can help me plaese it would be much appreciated thank you .

i have a toshiba M50-159 laptop which didnt come with SD CARD SLOT for putting in sd cards etc. Do you know if i can still have one put into my laptop because it does have space for it to fit into. Or where can i go to install the sd card slot and how much does it cost.

There is a yellow warning sign next to it under the hardware tab. My cable service provider and I tried reinstalling it, but it keeps coming back the same way. I have connection problems about once/week. I called my computer manufacturer who told me to reinstall the driver again from the application and driver recovery menu. I've done that also to no avail. Also, there is nothing in the Network Connections box.
