Right click anywhere on your desktop, select properties, click the last tab (display settings) and make sure that the options are set to 24-bit and the highest resolution that your laptop can support (and that you can see well). Click apply. Hope this fixes.

Check to make sure that you have the latest driver for the video card. Right click my computer, select manage, and go into device manager. on the properties of the driver, check to see if you can upgrade the driver.
