Laptops & Notebooks - March 2007

Last night I knocked over a glass of water on the keyboard of my MacBook. I immediately turned it upside down, dried off the water, and left it upside down with a space heater blowing warm air underneath it. (At this time, I also took out the battery, wiped the tiny amount of water off it, and replaced it.) When I first tried to turn it back on, it wouldn't respond. After about 4 hours of "space heater" treatment, I plugged the power cord back in, and tried to play a DVD (which it did) and access a Word document (which it did).

I was really relieved that it worked, until I got it to work today and it won't play using only the battery for power. The battery was fully charged before the water spill, but now the computer won't repond at all -- it's like the battery is completey dead.

Anyone heard of this? Ideas about what to do? My warranty doesn't cover accidental damage, so I'd like to minimize the cost of fixing it is possible.

I am preferably looking for a 15.4" or bigger laptop, with at least 128mb of integrated VRAM or a separate graphics card to play the latest pc games. Has to be above 2ghz, also preferably a wireless card.

I connected the extenal video cable to the projector and the output plug in the back of my Dell. The monitor turns on but says no signal. What settings do I have to change in my laptop to get it to display through the projector.

The power supply on my v2010 pro just kinda went, I took it to bits abd it burned a nice hole in the mother board. The computer still works how ever is aint charging no more. The bit of metal that was attacked to the mother board melted the MB and everything around it. anyone have a clue what needs to be soldered where?

Ok, at home the power was going in and out due to a storm, making the computer turn on and of constantly. Finally we just turned the computer off Now we have power back, now the screen and speakers get power but its like the computer just wont get power??
Its just dead? Did it blow a fuse or something???
Oh yeah, its an e machines computer if that helps

i bought a 1gb ram for my laptop. I already have a 256mb ram in my 1st slot. Should I put the bigger size ram in the 1st slot? and the smaller size ram in the second slot? Does it matter where my bigger size ram goes in?

hey there guys..i am searching for the best laptop which is worth the money spend on it. Could anybody help in this?

I prefer large storage space, quick processing and centrino ofcourse...its real hard finding the best bargain or ascertaining that you are making the right decision.

There is always the temptation of waiting for a month and see if a company comes up with a better one or if the prices are slashing!

so that when I get the laptop I can just pop in the harddrive. I have a cable that plugs directly into the hd and the other end is usb. I want to plug that usb end into my desktop computer and put in the windows disk in the desktop and have windows installed just on the laptop harddrive and not have it hurt my desktops windows. Is that possible?

It has 256 MB RAM and 60 GB Hard disk with AMD Turion Processor.Its been 3 months but it is running very slow after I start for the first time.How do I remove icons from the task bar(right hand side bottom corner).Very often it gives application errors also and hangs very often.I scan my computer every 3rd day with anti-viruses but nothing helps.
