i have a laptop bag and i always keep my laptop in it when its not in use. When its in the bag, should it be layed down flat or is it ok to stand the bag up and store it away?

I want something that is going to last me. I've had an Acer TravelMate 4650 for 15 months now and it is about to die. I don't want to get another laptop that is going to last only this long. It overheats and shuts off even though it had 2 GB of RAM. I will use my laptop for downloading music and movies/shows, watching movies/shows, pictures, surfing the internet while I use instant messenger and download things at the same time. What laptop is going to last and run well and fast while I do these things? What laptop(s) is the best for me?

my aunt has a 9 month old packard bell laptop which has suddenly started running very slowly. the problem seems particularly bad when running firefox. she does have norton internet security 2006 which i thought may be taking up too much ram. But this has been on since new and the slow speed is only recent. my other thought is a spyware infection? please advise. thanks.

I want to buy a wireless keyboard and mouse, that I can use with both my desktop and laptop. Is there a way I can do this without disconnecting the input to the USB2 on my desktop. In other words can I buy a second receiver only without doing constant unpluging? I am looking at retailers Future Shop and Best Buy or even Circuit City.

I did not find much information about it on the net, but it does not seem that great anyway. I need a laptop and was waiting till I go to USA or till a family member or a friend comes to Egypt but I desperately need it at this time and this is the only one I could find with a decent price in Egypt (laptops prices in Egypt are very high) anyone has any information about it please? should I go for it or should I wait?

The part of the computer that the power cord connects to (the hole with the little needle in the middle) seems to be loose. The needle part is loose and though I can plug the power cord into it, I have to jiggle the cord in order to have the Low Battery icon go away. The cord has to be pulled just right in order for the computer to have any power at all. Then, even when it says it is powered up, the battery is not charging...it is simply running off of the power cord.

Can anyone tell me if this can be repaired? Especially the loose needle.

I accidently dropped my laptop its a sony vaio laptop pcg-v505 series notebook, and the screen broke and the audio is gone but everything else works great, also even the screen is broken but i can still see a little its just dark, anyway my question is i have tried the control panel and no audio device is available and i tried to download the audio from my cd but it wont accept so i was wondering is it expensive to fix the audio i dont care about the screen cuz im using another screen for now but i need to know about the audio is it hard to fix and is it pricey or not, thanks for your help.

By business I would generally use Microsoft applications and some small design packages. Home use would be internet and possible to watch DVDs. Anybody recommend one or several?

Price range is as cheap as possible without being so cheap that it's crap!

I can either by a customized XPS dell desktop or an Auro m7900 alienware laptop. I want the one that is the best for gaming but will also allow me to carry out other needs, like doing homework. There both basically the same price and it will be stationed in a work station in my room. Tell me what u would buy and why. thank you

I will soon be comming into about €1000 as im giving my dad my acer aspire. Its pretty good but you know guys they want the next best thing. Once i get the money i intend to put 500 towards it so thats a total of €1500 ($2000) I would go for XPS but im not too fond of dell.
If it had say enough power to play Supreme commander that would be perfect, Sooooo 3-3.5 ghzs (dual core if possible) and a good graphics card to match. I dont mind the ram too mjuch as i can upgrade that. (1-2gb)

Any sugestions???

dell inspirion. says battery is 97% full, but when i take the power cord out of the back, the computer shuts off immediatly. Is there somewhere where you need to have it switch over to battery power?

I bought a notebook few months ago. It has 60 gb of ram and the intel core 2 dual processor (1.67ghz) T5500 Intel(R) core (TM)2 CPU @ 1.66 GHz, 896 mb ram.
In the system information, it says that it has 896mb of ram, but when i checked my disk defragmenter, it says that the C drive only has 60gb of ram???
Anyway the main idea is that I wanted to speed up my computer, and the only way to do it is to add ram.
I wonder what's the price of upgrading the hard disk from a 60gb one to a 120gb one?
Or should I purchase an external HDD?
Which one would be better?

My Acer laptop (2 yrs old) had a trojan or 500, so I reinstalled Windows XP. Since then, there's no sound. I checked in Control Panel and it says there's no sound device... does that mean the sound card is broken?
PS - I checked that it's not on mute, etc.

*angst* my computer fixerer is in Dubai!

My battery died and Gateway wants 139.00 for a new one. I bought the laptop 2 years ago, and purchased the extra life battery which was like 250.00. I didn't know the warrenty didn't cover a new one and now I'm mad at Gateway. So is there anywhere you can purchased a replacement battery for a laptop without going to the company?

when i play video cd...it is played in slow motion. Bowsing is difficult. Even if i click on "start" button, it takes 10 seconds to respond. Real player does not work either. I need your help. Thank you.
