1st thing to do (for immediate improvement) is to do a disk cleanup. Go to START then to PROGRAMS then to ACCESSORIES then to SYSTEM TOOLS then to DISK CLEANUP. It will ask you which hard drive to clean (just click YES) if you have another hard drive and use it on the net also do a disk clean up on it.
If that didn't completely fix the problem do a thorough scan disk and run your anti-virus thereafter the scan disk.
Then REBOOT.
You can also disable certain programs that you don't use or use less frequently. Then after doing all the above CLOSE all PROGRAMS running in your SYSTEMS TRAY (bottom right, where the clock is) then do a DISK DEFRAG.
If none of the above helps, buy more memory(RAM~SDRAM etc...) or get a bigger hard drive.

For the REAL PLAYER problem; go to control panel and add/remove programs click on real player and remove. Then do a reboot and then download REAL PLAYER again.
I myself prefer Windows Media Player.

Rather than following all the advice that says to run spyware sweepers, etc. The problem with doing that is that spyware sweepers rarely resolve all the problems you're experiencing. Especially if spyware has successfully embedded itself inside your O/S registry.

With the number of problems that you are having and a guaranteed fix to your problem, i would strongly recommend you do a format/reload on your laptop. Meaning, dig out your windows disc and boot up to it, format your hard drive and reload windows back onto the computer. Do not do a repair on windows as this only overlaps the problem and makes it even harder to remove malware/spyware later.

PS. don't forget to backup whatever you want to keep before you format/reload your laptop.

Hi. Something is dragging down the speed. Do a scan for malware and registry problems. "Advanced WindowsCare Personal" is a great program and free. http://iobit.com/AdvancedWindowsCarePersonal/index.html . Also follow the previous answers about defragmenting. Always good advice.

I'd start with a defragment, cleanup misc files you don't need. Download Spybot or ad-aware, may be that you have some programs running in the background you are not aware of (sypware/adware/etc)

Have you gone in and deleted your browsing history lately?

There is a possibility you have some spyware running, also.
