Hi yummi600,
If you've forgotten your password, dig out your copy of Mac OS X. Insert the disk # one into your drive and reboot. As it is booting up, hold down the "C" key so that it boots off of the disk.
Instead of installing the Mac OS X you go up to the menu command. There should be something there about changing your administrative password. Select that and put in your user name and password. (Be sure to write that down where you can find it.)
But maybe you just want to be able to have it so that you don't have to type in your password all the time, just when you are installing software and that's it. For that, you need to get into your System Preferences. Under the Personal heading, click on the Security icon.
Inside of the Security section, turn off File Vault and un-check all of the boxes. Now you won't need to type in your password near as much. Best of luck to you.

Put the install disks in and when you see your Mac harddrive, during the installation process, go down to options and select delete or format everything and install everything fresh
If you need to reset your password before reinstalling the OS. Put the OS disks in and go to the top left and through one of the drop down menues and there should be a password reset option.
