i have an amilo m1437 laptop, and the irda doesnt work, well the remote it came with does but i cant find any settings on the pc about it and it wont let my phone send anything to it , and i have tried several phones.

Hey! My laptop, an Acer Aspire AWLMi, has a wireless switch next to the microphone/headphones jacks and when i do it, a light goes orange, which I guess is on. But, i cant find it under wireless connections, and it clearly says "Wireless LAN" on my box. But i dont know how to activate it. Help please.

I keep getting messages that my video card doesn't like 3xd or that direct draw didn't install correctly or I need to upgrade to a newer graphics card. I haVE A STANDARD vga . and ai've looked everywhere. pLEASE HELP. I am an avid gamer and this is depressing me.

I have a Powerbook G4 that has been giving me trouble with turning on so I've had to reset the Power Management Unit (PMU) quite a few times by pressing shift-control-option-power. It works, but it is the only way I can get it to come on now and it will turn off even when sleeping. Is there a way I can resolve this? Does the resetting it too many times lead to other problems like this? Can the PMU be replaced?

I've been thinking about replacing both the external and internal battery, but not if it will be a waste of money. Has anyone else had this issue after resetting the PMU??????

i need it to have the following features for sure but be about 650$ give or take 100$...
webcam, microphone, sd card reader, and some ablity to play movies since i will be mailing them...

Windows 98 discovered that station C: (Harddisc) does not contain a legal FAT or FAT32 partition. How can I solve the problem without loosing my data on the harddisc. If I boot my computer with a startup disc, it still would not solve the problem. I have tried to run a program called Testdriv from Seatools without luck. Can anyone help.

I currently have a very old PC. How old? Well, I am still using OS Windows 98SE. Now I need a new system. I waited for VIsta to come out, but now I hear they have software issues. There is no timetable for when or no idea who will release a software patch for what I need. Should I look around for a notebook pc with XP on it to get me by while waiting on the software patch. Or should I go with a MAC either a notebook or a desktop? Or should I just go with Vista and wait out the software situation that is eventual? I do need a machine with large graphics capabilities. I am into graphic arts and web design. I also plan to use autocad, as well as, other drafting software. The Autocad software is the problenm I have become aware of with Vista. Any help please?

To make my question clear:
-Table computer means the one which is put on Table and it is difficult to move. -Taptop is kind of computer that is easy to move.
I used to set up Window Xp in Table computer but I never set windows the Laptop.That is why I wanna to know. And If there is any different, please tell me how to set the Windows in the laptop. Thanks in advance!!!

i got a new sony vaio, and when i click 'safely remove hardware' it says that 'hardware can safely be removed..."
but my usb key light is still on and my ipod says: "do not disconnect"on my previous laptop the usb light would turn off when i ejected the device....
i usually end up just pulling it out now....

what can i do to make sure im ejecting it safely? is it really bad to pull it out?

i bought Toshiba Tecra Laptop this last February ,initially it had 512 MB RAM,and i started having problems that it used to hang up,while i m working normally,ie.not using any heavy softwares.the external fan starts making noise and the laptop hangs up.now i even upgraded to 1GB RAM but the problem persists.what should i do?
