Well it is an interesting Idea. They have some application but have not proved to be very popular.
Mostly because typing is usually faster for most people, the table PC still ways 2 KG or more. Not heavy, but imagine carrying that around day to write on.
This applies to one of the example applications, which is Doctors carrying table PCs to enter patient details.
Alternatives to keyboards have been proposed for a long time, but have never replaced the relatively short time it takes to learn how to type.
Wrting on the screen is actually harder in many ways than typing.
My feeling is that handwriting recognition will play an important part in the future, especially in mobile devices. But tablet PCs are unlikely to take a large proportion of the market.

I don't think so. I think there will always be people like me who prefer a desktop, because they are too uncoordinated to be sure they won't drop and break their tablet PC. This is why I currently don't have a laptop: I'm not afraid, but POSITIVE I'll either forget it, or spill a full latte in it, or otherwise be kicking myself for a week after I lose/wreck the thing.
I also like that you can get MUCH more power out of a gaming rig via desktop, and I don't suspect that will change (since any innovations that would allow the laptop more horsepower could be adapted to lend the PC more power).
I wouldn't be suprised if they became as widely used as laptobs are though.

i dont' think so. i had thought about getting one, but they are too expensive. plus, they aren't powerful enough for that i would like to do. they are also not very rugged.
they may dominate the business sector in the future, but over all they have a long way to go before they take over the laptop and the pc.

I don't think so somehow, full computers even laptops, are much more powerful and i wouldn't scarifice that power. Although people who can afford it might have both and a desktop which is uber-cool.
