I am so tired of Microsoft and it's software problems! I am researching Mac, but need a little advice. Are you happy with your Mac? Can you still look at picutres and word documents from my IBM computer? Any information would be helpful. Thanks

much happier. I was never really an MS user as I've always been a UNIX user, but I was stuck using 2000 and XP b/c of work. I've moved to a mac, and it's the best of UNIX w/ a pretty GUI. So glad it now runs on Intel hardware...

it's worth the translation..I like knowing that I'll boot up my macbook pro, and NOT have to worry about viral, and having a useful set of networking tools built into the operating system...

I use both. I use Mac and work and will use PC at home. You can pretty much use any picture and word programs these days. Most things are cross platforms. There was an old rule that Mac can open PC but PC can't open Mac. Mac is probably easier to use but much more expensive. Which is the only drawback. You should check on some company auctions that sell used equipment. Such as publishers or graphics type companies. You could probably get a used G4 for a decent price to see if you like it and get a feeling for it. It should be plenty of speed and RAM for picture and work applications.
