I'm a graphic designer ans I recently got a 15" Mac Book Pro and love it. Get it over the MacBook for its sheer processing power. Others gave you the specs, trust me, you'll love it.

In my opinion, i would choose the Macbook Pro if I had the money because the performance speed is a lot faster, and the graphic card is surely better. Other than that, you have a larger hard drive for saving more data, a larger screen, and more RAM for faster speed, but the RAM can be upgraded later. However, you will have to consider if you have enough money or not and whether it will be worth it to put in more money. Also, if you're taking it around with you a lot, then i recommend that you should take the Macbook, it's a lot smaller, and the speeds are actually quite reasonable enough.

Macbook Pro. The Macbooks have integrated graphics (share the system memory resources), the pros have discrete graphics (ATI 128 or 256Mb dedicated graphics cards). I would go with the Macbook Pro 2.33 Ghz model w/ the 256Mb graphics card and 2Gb minimum of Ram. If money's not a big issue and you want all the bells and whistles go with the 17" version and max it to 3Gb. You'll fall in love with the Pro. It really is a great machine. Good luck!

A Pro, of course. You get a faster processer, better display and a dedicated graphics card, a bigger hard disk, backlit keyboard with Ambient Light Sensor, an ExpressCard 34 slot...
I have a 15", myself.

MacBook=awesome laptop
MacBookPro=awesome laptop with more hard disk space and bigger screen.\
For graphic editing I would recommend the MacBook Pro because it has a larger screen and more space to save illustrations on.

It doesn't matter what Mac u use!, the software is the important. Adobe is the best, but PaintShop is great too.
