Video problem with a compaq 2525us laptop?

when i hook it up to my tv via s-video i can see everything on both screens but when i play a movie it only shows on my laptop, how can i get it on my tv?

When you look at the TV and the laptop, do you see the Icons and Task bar on the televison and the laptop?

If you don't see icons on the TV, then you have to actually drag the video window over to that part of the desktop.
