when I try to upload movies from the internet the load bar will fill totally up but the movie won't load. I can't make it understand the movie hasn't really loaded! How do I fix this? It works sometimes; I have high-speed net.

I'm in my 1st year of high school and am going to get a dektop or laptop for college and i'll use it in high school too. laptops are more expensive and you can take them around.... which do you suggest??? i like to go places a lot... and i want a cheap but really nice one... im not sure... anybody?

I have a refirbished IBM T21 THINKPAD LAPTOP NOTEBOOK. It was working fine, but now I can't get it to load. When I turn it on I get a black screen only, I can't put a cd in to try to repair or re-boot the system. Does anyone have a clue on how to fix this? It does come up with an error msg -
" This appplication has failed to start because LSASRV.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix the problem."
Please help!!!

presario 700 notebook, it won't boot up at all so i can't go into the options...i am not sure how to get to the bios settings..i can get to phoenix bios settings but that doesn't do me any good. i don't have the cd to reboot nor the money to buy one :( if anyone can help it will be very much appreciated. I have tryed going to safe mode with boot commanding....tryed last system config but it gives me the same blue screen

I have a HP Pavilion notebook. For some odd reason the desktop symbols come up for about 10 seconds on booting, then disappear. Windows functions normally, I just can't call up any of the icons to see them. i.e. I'm typing this OK right now. What should I do?

At what size do you think the trade off in portability becomes an issue? I used a 15" CRT monitor for years without eye strain, I think I've only recently become spoiled due to to big screen TV's, large workplace monitors. Is a 14" notebook/laptop a good choice?
What about a smallish notebook, and just run a second large monitor of it for extended home use?

How do I update the BIOS? My processor, a pentium 4 it is a newer version than my Bios. The laptop has become slower and it's going down more and more specially when I defragment or when there are a few windows open or programs working. One of the causes, I guess, I am getting short of RAM, 256k.

I would like to connect my laptop to my television so I could play videos that are on my laptop on my TV. Is there any cable or plug that I can buy to do this. I dont have a S video input on my laptop or TV, just thought that would be good to know. Thanks in advance I would really like to do this.

I know that you can just fold a laptop and take it anywhere but why are they so much more expensive? I am having Toshiba Satellite A135-S2246 Notebook, which is having 512 MB RAM (Toshiba PC2-4200 DDR2-533MHz)...
As the system is having Windows Vista, so i want to install 1 GB more RAM....

But I read a article in net which says

"if your computer supports dual-channel memory configurations, you should install in identical pairs (preferably in kits) for optimal performance."

Now i dont understant what to so as installing 1 GB RAM more RAM will make
Slot 1 512 MB and
Slot 2 1 GB...

Please advise....

I want to upgrade to a bigger hard drive on my Dell 5100 laptop. 1st, If I do get a new hard drive, I want to move my old files onto my new drive. 2nd, Is this a difficult process and do I need anything else besides a new drive?

I have done it before when I talked to a person from Dell over the phone. He told me to do it. I had to push a certain button lots of times when the Dell symbol came up when I booted up the computer. I dont think it is any of the F- buttons.
