A 15.4" screen will probably be widescreen. Mine is!

Well, first off, do you mean 14.1 widescreen or old-standard screen? 15.4" is always widescreen but the 14" can come wide or square-ish...

If comparing 14.1" wide to 15.4" wide, youre getting about 17 square inches more viewing area. I think thats pretty significant when it comes to the view of a document. The larger screen can mean the difference between readable and not.

If comparing the 14.1" square-ish screen to the 15.4" screen, I believe its only about 12 square inches more space (in favor of the 15.4" screen).

However, again, the widescreen view is preferable (in my humble opinion). Better view of documents...and most entertainment is headed toward the newer WS format. Digital Television also...

About 1.3 inches, probably measured diagonally. Will it make a big difference? Probably not, but I always get a bigger monitor whenever possible. If it's not too much more money, go for the larger one. You can't change you mind after the deal is done.

Sure. I'll be a smartass and say 1.3 inches.
That small difference does make a difference. It's better to see the difference: go into a computer store and look at different laptops.
