I am having Toshiba Satellite A135-S2246 Notebook, which is having 512 MB RAM (Toshiba PC2-4200 DDR2-533MHz)...
As the system is having Windows Vista, so i want to install 1 GB more RAM....

But I read a article in net which says

"if your computer supports dual-channel memory configurations, you should install in identical pairs (preferably in kits) for optimal performance."

Now i dont understant what to so as installing 1 GB RAM more RAM will make
Slot 1 512 MB and
Slot 2 1 GB...

Please advise....

Well, the answer to question "will the computer read out 1.5 gig ram?" is "yes, it will" it just wont perform as well as dual 512 mb. The size of the Ram means how much it can hold/load software at once. What they mean by performance is the speed, how fast the the software comes and leave. For dual channel, they computer will be able to use 2 rams at once to increase the speed. For 2 none identical memory, it will load up one ram then jump to another, so it will perform a little slower. but... yeah, it'll work fine... But I would recommand you to dual 512 instead, cuz 1 gig of ram is alrdy sufficient for most of the current day uses, so it would be better to boost up the speed instead of the capacity. 1 Gig is good enuff for a 3D game w/ installation of other software. U might just overload the CPU b4 u load up ur rams. Besides, 2 different rams might result a freeze up screen or system restart if one ram goes into overloading and the other is functioning normally... Operating system is hardly perfect...

take the "scan my system" test in this site

it'll tell you everything

the rams WILL work but they can be as fast as the slower one installed on your motherboard. So your new 1 GB ram should be pc2-4200 or 533 Mhz for you to get the most out of it

You need to add the RAM in pairs...if you want 1GB of RAM...then 2 512mb chips are needed...I would advise for stablity to upgrade to either 1 gb of 2 512mb...or buy 2 1 gb chips

in basic terms attempt installation it and play it. some video games will artwork, some won't. i don't understand on the subject of the Witcher yet you are able to continuously attempt a demo or something. If it won't do not hassle paying for the sport. in basic terms upload extra RAM, it is extremely affordable those days.
