how can i stop Windows Media Center from popping up whenever i insert a CD?

Most play CD programs do the same you have to tell the program it is your default program for playing CD Get Real player it is one of the best.

Open My Computer and right click on your CD drive. Select the Auto Play tab and change your options there.
