its a intel (R) pentium (R) 4 cpu 2.66ghz 2.67 ghz 512 mb of ram ok what sound driver would i require for that i carnt hear any sound at all even my speach mirco sam dont talk ps its a micro star 2660 power pro pc

I use Windows XP Home version. My compter is a laptop, not sure if that matters, it has been doing this for about a month now. A friend of mine told me to shut it down in Safe Mode to see if it stayed on during the night to rule out viruses as being the cause, it still turned off. I have shut if down in Stand By and it is still in that mode in the morning. I'm not really sure what is going on, it doesn't do it everyday, just totally random. Mostly when I am listening to music, watching a movie, but it has done it when I just loaded up MSN too. Once it shuts down and I restart it right away it usually shuts down once again before it totally starts up, it's like I have to give it a break before I can turn it back on once it shuts down on me. If anyone can help or knows any possibilities of why this is doing this I would love to hear something, I still have a warranty for about 1.5 yrs on it too. Thanks in advance.

I'm tied down to 3: the Sony Vaio VGN-N11M/W T2050 or the Dell Inspiron 1501 or 6400. I like the Vaio for the design, but the Dells seem to have the longer battery power. Any help or advice please?

Im thinking a virus with a filename temp2.exe is residing in my boot sector and i need to remove it. Everytime i boot my Notebook a error message appear saying that temp2.exe has encountered error and need to close so when i click Send or dont send error or if i dont click at all my Notebook will retart again and again. PLease help me pls.....

hi,
i am trying to install ubuntu on my laptop from the files from my usb flash drive. i have managed to save all the files onto my laptop and clicked on one of the files caled start and it says that i need to boot the cd to install ubuntu, how do i do it?
i dont have a cd drive or floppy drive.

i got my computer in july. its a compaq presario i think 5000 series or something. my comp is always plugged in, but when i need to use it outside of my house, the battery only last about an hour when fully charged... do i need to get a new one? is there a way that i can get a longer lasting one?? when school starts up again, i wouldnt want my comp to die during class!!

i am getting good deal on toshiba Toshiba M115-S1061 but its not intel core duo its celeron M. so my question is: how good is core duo comparing to celeron. and how good is laptop with celeron? i am getting this laptop for $425 brand new. should i look for one that comes with core duo or should i go for celeron type? following is the specification of toshiba M115-S1061
