I'm tied down to 3: the Sony Vaio VGN-N11M/W T2050 or the Dell Inspiron 1501 or 6400. I like the Vaio for the design, but the Dells seem to have the longer battery power. Any help or advice please?

Vaios are good laptops, my brother has one, but the battery power SUCKS compared to my powerbook which has an amazing length of battery power. Since I'm guessing your a Windows person, go for the Dell

Definitely the dells because of their functionality. They get great components in their computers and they have good battery life if your settings are set right. Happy Notebook Shopping

My advice would be get a Mesh laptop, the machine works well and the after sales service is brilliant

go for the sony laptop they are a lot better than dell laptops and a lot cheaper if they go wrong hope this helps

A friend of mine had some very bad experiences with the Viao. Don't know if it was an isolated case.

don't get laptops from dell get them from HP they offer much better laptops with great space and speed
