I've already tried pressing f8 over and over no i'm not having keyboard problems.I was wondering if the ibm t43 had some kind of special way of booting up into safe mode because i know with pretty much every other computer you just press f8

If you are running Windows XP, just go to

Start
Run
and type in
msconfig

A window will open and click on the boot.ini tab.

Click on the /safeboot box

Click on apply and then okay...it will prompt for a restart and will restart in safe mode.

Once you are done in safe mode, just run msconfig again and remove the check in the /safeboot box so your computer will return to normal windows.

Are you having trouble with the computer? I would assume so if you are trying to get into safe mode. You should be able to just keep tapping the F8 key from boot up. Do you have a keyboard issue? Could be a lot of different reasons. Need more info as to what may be wrong with the pc.

You have to hit the F8 key during startup. Watch the sequence carefully... if you are too late or too early, you won't get the safe mode startup menu. Once the Windows screen appears, it's too late. Timing is everything.
