I have run McAfee virus scan, Spybot and Ad-Aware and no viruses or trojans are found and yet i always have between 57 - 62 processes running always making the laptop very slow at times. There is software available for process managing and you can end processes i know but i dont know which processes to terminate. Dont really want to spend £50.00 for a process manager. Any ideas?

when I turned on my computer it didn't say it was going into safe mode so I'm not sure if it is or not but the things in the screen are big like it would be in safe mode. I tried turning it on and off again a few times but it still stays the same. Whats wrong with my computer? How can I go back to normal screen size?

I tried Svideo but its not as clear as i would like it. Is a VGA port better for TV's or should i still try to work with the Svideo?

when i switch on, there is a long time (5 minutes) delay before the computer responds to commands. The hard drive is doing a lot of 'clicking'. Once it stops clicking, then there is no problem with performance. What's going on?

I have defragmented, preformed a disk cleanup, error check, increased virtual memory and I don't know what else to do. The internet opens slow, so does the itunes and lots of other programs. My startup for my computer is fast because i recently took things off the startup. Any suggestions?

Hi. I dropped my laptop (Dell 700m) and when I tried to turn it on, it wouldn't turn on. I plugged in the AC adapter and it turned on, but when it starts up, it always says that the battery can not be identified and i have to press F2 to continue.

Does anyone know if this problem is in the laptop itself or if its in the battery? Will getting a new battery solve the problem?

My laptop has a 100 Gigabyte hardrive and it is getting full fast. I have only had it for maybe five days and i have already put 20 G on it. Would one of those hardrives that you connect with usb port be compatible with it? I wad looking at the 200 Gigabyte ones. My laptop has four usb ports on it. I want one that I can leave at home at connect to it when I need it. I dont want to have to replace the hardrive that came in the computer.

MY laptop's keyboard doesn't work right, buttons press themselves and it;'s really hard to work. i have an alternate USB keyboard that i'm using now, but how do i turn the other one off? I didn't find anything in the keyboad section of my control panel that allows me to uninstall the laptop's own keyboaD. I'm using win XP sp2. HELP! it's very hard to work like this until I go to a service with the PC.
