MY laptop's keyboard doesn't work right, buttons press themselves and it;'s really hard to work. i have an alternate USB keyboard that i'm using now, but how do i turn the other one off? I didn't find anything in the keyboad section of my control panel that allows me to uninstall the laptop's own keyboaD. I'm using win XP sp2. HELP! it's very hard to work like this until I go to a service with the PC.

There was a big discussion about this online at:

The conclusion was that it is easier to get the keyboard repaired. You can "In the device manager you should be able to disable the drivers for the built in keyboard. Do this only if you are using a external usb keyboard!" but it would have to be done every time the computer was turned on.

ADDED: Note - I just went into my Gateway laptop device manager and it will not allow me to disable the keyboard.

do right-click on my computer then do properties > hardware > device manager, then right-click on keyboard (not the usb/HID keyboard) and select disable it

umm can you even do that??? well you could always try like breakibng it... thats the only thing i could think of!!!
