I tried Svideo but its not as clear as i would like it. Is a VGA port better for TV's or should i still try to work with the Svideo?

Thanks

Unless your TV is ALSO a monitor, you can NOT connect VGA to it.

The primary choices are RGB (uses RCA jacks), S-Video, and a "converter" box that changes the VGA signal to an RF signal, (like some VCR players) which is input through the antenna connection.

Although S-video is supposed to be best, I have had better luck overall with the RGB connection set.

You have to remember that TV is normally a bigger screen with LOWER resolution than your monitor, and MOST programing is NOT designed for TV use.

VGA sends analogue video purely. Audio should be despatched over a separate cable, in various of circumstances a three.5mm stereo jack to jack plug from the computing device headphone socket to the television audio in (if it has one). HDMI sends both Audio & Video digitally down a similar cable. the image is way clearer than VGA and also you do not might want to run a separate audio cable. a cheap HDMI cable is as reliable as an severe priced one because the signal is digital it both works or it doesn't, so do not waste your money on severe priced Monster HDMI cables.. try to be able to %. an HDMI lead for a minimum of a similar because the VGA lead fee if no longer more less costly.
