I currently own a dell latitude cpi A366xt and to be honest I HATE it! I have had nothing but problems I am interested in a few other laptops Toshiba Satellite Pro L100, Acer Travelmate 2428WXMi, Fujitsu Siemens AMilo Pro V2030 and the HP NX6325.

I tried searching the web but no luck does anyone out there own any of these 4 laptops? if so can you tell me what you think.

I will never own a dell again and want to pick out of these 4 as they are the only ones www.student-laptops.co.uk (where I bought the dell reconditioned for £159.) that are available in my price range.

Any advice will be of great use. Any PC wizards or companys want to fix my dell and update it then let me know lol.

wanna buy a core duo ,512MB RAM ,dvd writer wifi , bluetooth ,60-80gb hard-disk and most important a long life and low maintenence laptop. can i go 4 zenith, acer, toshiba. do they last long wat about there running cost hardware oh god i am screwed up plzz help me with any of the model with core 2 du0 in this range can exceed 50000 but not much i need it 4 home use and for share-trading purpose also wat should i do ??????????????????????????

Hello there,

I need some advice as I am going to be buying a new laptop.

I will use my laptop for the following things:
- Browsing the web
- Word processing
- Music
- Chatting (i.e. Skype, IM)
- Web/Graphic design (which means Photoshop, Dreamweaver, FTP client and many other misc. windows open at the same time - possibly Premiere for movies as well. - possibly Visual Studio 2005 Pro for programming as well.)
- Playing the occasional (non-superhighspec) game.

Do you have any suggestions or tips for me for when I choose my laptop or any recommendations for which one would be best suited for my needs? All comments are greatly appreciated.

A friend recommended this one ( http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=115793&ebid=1268 ), but I haven't made up my mind yet.

Little sidenote: No Dell, or overly-expensive laptops (e.g. Alienware). Pref widescreen. Pref upgradable (RAM, especially). Pref under £600

this is a mouse pad on laptops not a mouse

whenever i move my cursor it just goes back to where it was first! like when i am going to press something, i move my cursor where it goes and when i let go, the cursor will go back! this has happened once before but i dont remember what happened. i tried logging off then coming on again but its still here! please help!

I know with a PC, typically you need to clean out the registry or defrag the hardrive from time to time, but from what do you do when an Apple computer starts to seriously slow down? When i check the device manager it says she have various audio thingys, all of which it says are working. But when i check Control Panel/Sounds and Audio Devices, it says she doesn't have an audio driver. So i looked at my own laptop and it lists all the same things except i have a SiS 7018 Audio Driver. if i download this from Sis will it work.she has one of those new fancy Vaio Laptops with xp? Hey guys, I was wondering if I can buy a laptop with Intel Celeron M and do a cpu upgrade to a Centrino rather buying a laptop with Centrino already. This way is cheaper. I bought it refubrished, and when i compared it to other powerbooks it seems a little loose. I didnt buy the extended waranty, but it came with a 1yr applecare, and i bought it last april. Will they even cover this, or should i do it myself.

My computer screen gets dark all the time and I have to press on Fn-F2 to get it bright and active again. This really disturbs my usage of the computer. What do I do to stop that definitely?

For starters, I am using a hand-me-down laptop (a Dell Latitude CPx). It worked fine for a short period of time other than the occasional, random power down.

Recently, I have abandoned using it altogether since I can not get it to power on. It is hooked up to an external power source, and I've alternated that source several times. It seems to be the previous problem on a larger scale. It will not boot up or recognize an external source. The times it does, though, the light for power comes on and I'll hit the power button. It will boot normally, but then shut back off within seconds and again fail to recognize electricity. Help?
