Just get a usb hub, preferably a powered usb hub. This will use one usb port but give you a minimum 4 extra ports for a net gain of 3 usb ports. By using a powered hub you reduce the power load on the laptop keeping it cooler than a non powered or pcmcia card.

couple different ways to solve this...
option 1 is too install another set of usb ports in an open slot in the laptop.
option 2 is too purchase a usb hub... small box bout the size of a thing of tic-tacs.. has bout 4 usb ports on it.. but it uses a usb port, so one from your comp will be used by the hub.. thus still giving you 4 open ports
hope this helps

I bought a USB hub off ebay for $10 I think...it uses one of your USB ports, and (the one I have) gives you a total of four ports. It uses the battery power of your laptop, so you can take the hub (which is the size of a small cellphone) anywhere.

Either buy an expansion card OR buy a USB hub that plugs into one of your existing USB ports. Note that you may have to plug this device in to the wall.

Go to Walmart and get a USB 2.0 "Hub". I got a 4 port USB hub from there for $9.99! I haven't unplugged it from my laptop ever since! That's about the only logical way to do it. For cheap anyway...

The colour of a plug doesn't really matter, it the shape that's important. I'll assume that it's a small reound plug, probably a PS/2 plug. It used to be the standard for keyboards and mice, but everything is USB these days... So yeah, any good computer store should be able to help you out. Take your keyboard down to make sure you get the right thing.

you can also buy a USB hub, there are some for up to 8 usb devices. is easy, you plug up one to your laptop, and you can plug up many other things to the hub.

You can get a USB separator. It is rather cheap, and efficient.
