I want to get a new computer, but I don't know if I should wait until summer, since I don't know if the best deals come out around that time. I want to be able to game. So when is the best time to buy one?

Personal computers are never cheap, especially at the rate at which technologies are being developed. On a positive note, you should buy one right now if you like. Be sure to look out for a computer with a large hard drive. This is essential for any gamer. Some valued manufacturers include Hewlett-Packard, Sony and Acer.

.
The best sales on computers
are just after the newest versions are put on the market.
Then is when you can get the best price on very good computers still "in stock".

So it follows that the releases of the newest versions are usually in July and August, just before colleges begin Fall semester.

Watch for SALES just before Christmas Dec 5 - 15.

Know what you want for gaming
Include Athalon, and Semptron, 3200+
as they run cool very well
Lots of RAM 512+ or be prepared to add your own ram.

For the newest games you will want to run a gig of ram or more, because the graphics require lots of ram.
(Remember to increase your virtual memory too, if you get a big fat hard drive.

Get a known good CPU too.

To me, it seems like there are a lot of good deals around "tax time". Like from late January to April. That's when I got mine. But places like Dell.com have great deals all the time. I wish I had been smarter and done that....instead of what I got. Good luck.
