I have a ati radeon 1600X graphics card and a windows xp,and im positive it is not whats causing the lag because I played the games before ( mostly counter strike source) and it ran very smoothly on high graphics settings, then at one point i just started getting alot of lag and fps. I turned off other applications, I defragged my computer, i have no idea why it would just start lagging for no apparent reason, also i have a good internet connection and thats also not the problem, p.s i already said this, but I used to play it fine, i changed nothing, and it just started to have low fps and lag heeeelp

My printer is a cannon, with 5 seperate cartrages. Can't remember exact model but it is abut 2 years old.

It refuses to print unless ALL of the cartrages have what IT thinks, in it's own deranged opinion, are sufficently full cartrages.

Firstly: It decidedes they are empty when they are clearly still 10% full, so i have to waste the last bit of ink.

Secondly: It insists the cartrages are ALL full, even if they are not all needed. So if I run out of yellow, as i just did, it won't even let me print in black and white till it has a full yellow cartrage.

This is some crazed conspiracy with the cartrage manufacturer i'm sure!

Any tips?

I need to clear the cmos on my toshiba satellite m65-s809 but I do not know how to do it. I thought that there might be a set of keys on the keyboard that clears the cmos but I am unsure. I thought it might be a set on pins and a jumper on the laptop but I do not know where the jumper and pins are located on the laptop( and I do not want to tear the whole thing apart ). The screen on my Gateway MX3210 laptop , approximately 18 months old, "died" - blacked out.

When I unplugged it and hooked it up to an independent monitor, the display appeared correctly on the monitor. Then I was able to toggle back the display on the laptop.

However, when I plugged the power cord back in, the laptop's display once again went black.

So... running on battery is okay and I can use the laptop's display. Running from the power supply causes the laptop's screen to go blank.

There are no apparent signs of any burn in from being kept on a single image too long.

And yes, I did re-start.

Any ideas what might be wrong?

Ive got a few laptops that are just FILTHY. I cleaned with alchohol, but theres still tons of dirt/hairs/crap inside. I took out the keyboards, removed all the letters, and ive been scrubing them with knapkins wet with alchohol. Its hard to get at some of this crap. And the motherboards are full of crap too! I was going to buy some compressed air cans but there expensive and apparently not reusable. It just hurts to have to spend money on air. Whats another good but cheap way? The vacuum cleaner is just to big...

I'm thinking about getting a Mac computer, because I heard they don't crash.
I have a HP computer right now. With even with my virus protection I have on my Hp, and every so often when my child gets codes for games or myspace we get some type of virus.

Hi, I downloaded the demo like a week ago. Played it and was very laggy. So I turned down a lot of the stuff and turned off a lot of the stuff and turned up the refresh rate and all that stuff. I see a pretty big difference, but I still lag if I look at the big buildings and really graphic parts. I don't have a great graphics card, but I would think I would see better performance. When the Call of Duty 4 game comes out... will it be less laggy than the Demo? Because mayb they are still working on it. And are the maps in the Call of duty 4 not as graphic as the map is in the demo?

I have an old windows xp laptop. I reinstalled my os alot. Then, it became unstable. I have a Blitzz BWP712 PCMCIA Adapter/card. I need IE 5.5 or greater for the driver. IE6 setup needs to connect to internet to set up. I tried dialup, dial-up networking wont open. So, I tried downloading my netzero client and it says 800x600 resolution required to set it up. It won't let me change it above 640x480. When I had windows xp it worked with 1280x1024 even! What should I do?

Okay so I'm looking at two different memory options for memory on my sony laptop.

1) G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Dual Channel
2) G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Dual Channel

YES, they are both the exact same, except for one difference. One has a CAS latency of 5, the other one of 4. And I am aware that lower CAS means faster computer operation. With that being said, my only criteria is price. The kit with the lower CAS of 4 (faster) is $70. The kit with the higher CAS of 5 (slower) is $55.

can anyone explain to me why a E6700 which is a 2.66ghz with bus speed of 1066mhz costs nearly double the E6750 which is also a 2.66ghz but has a much faster bus speed of 1333mhz?
This is confusing me enormously, the only difference i can see is some different instructions.

I have a dilemma. My computer is in dire need of a GPU upgrade. Right now I am running an nVidia GeForce 7600 GS. It ain't bad, but with COD4, Crysis, etc. on the horizon, I really need to upgrade. Question is, should I wait for the Geforce 9 series coming out (supposedly) in November, or should I bite the bullet now and buy a 8800 (probably the GTX). Or should I wait for the 9 series, and hope the prices on the 8 series goes down (any speculation on how much the prices will decrease?) Thanks!

The laptop is a toshiba portege a100 and the hard drive in it has gone corrupt. a blue screen keeps coming up when i switch it on! i need a 40gb-80gb hard drive please i do not mind 40gb as there is a 40gb in it already and that is fine for me.
