can anyone explain to me why a E6700 which is a 2.66ghz with bus speed of 1066mhz costs nearly double the E6750 which is also a 2.66ghz but has a much faster bus speed of 1333mhz?
This is confusing me enormously, the only difference i can see is some different instructions.

First answer was ridiculous, ignore it. Firrst off, the difference isn't that much, about $195 to $320. The reason is the E6700 is the first generation, and it was the fastest released except for the extremes, so it had a fairly high price point. The E6750 was released a year later, and was only the second fastest of those released, so it had a lower price point. Intel really should adjust the prices of the first generations down, because you end up will strange price comparisons like this. But if your motherboard cann support a 1333Mhz FSB, definately get the E6750, it is much better for the money.

that's because most motherboards only use 1066Mhz FSB and 1333Mhz is only used for overclocking. Most Motherboards supports 1066mhz more and you can only upgrade your memory speed to 1066mhz as well, which doesn't really do a 1333mhz any difference to install into your motherboard since you can have a 1066mhz that is compatible with most motherboards. But most differently 1333mhz has a higher chance of overcooking due to high mhz rate. So you risk a higher chance of cooking your processor. With weaker pins and processors that aren't design for that speed. It's also awsome for games only though.
