I already know if you press FN and f7 and f8 adjusts the colour brightness but what I really want to know is how do you adjust the contrast because I can't actually see the boxes I'm writing in. Remember the contrats not the brightness I need to change.

Well I allready installed the RAM into my computer. I added a gig awhile ago, but today just opened up my case and looked at the other RAM stick that came pre-installed in my eMachines, and it says it's 512 MB on the stick. Great.... but on my computer (before I added the gig) it said I had 382 MB of RAM. Also, now after I installed the gig it says that I have 1.4 GB of RAM, and if the one installed has 512 MB, wouldn't it be 1.5? What made it 328 MB?

I reinstalled XP on my laptop cause i was having problems, now the Ethernet drive, Audio, Network, Modem, and Video drives dont work. The wireless dont even work. I have tried to reinstall XP again thinking it would help but still the same thing. So please if you can help me i could really really use it.. I need my laptop for college and i cant use it anymore.. Please help me!

I have this monitor with my PS3

So I know it has HDCP so I just need a DVI to HDMI adaptor and a HDMI cable and it should work right? But since this moniter doesn't have speaker what do I need to do?

I have A Sony VAIO PCV RX540 I got from a friend for free! It has a 1.2 Ghz Intel Celeron processor with 512 mb ram, 64 mb DVI TV tuner card, Really slow DVD burner, and a CD RW drive. There is a 20 gb hard drive with Windows XP home SP2 on it. It was made in 2001. Is this a good computer where all I have to do is upgrade the DVD burner , Hard Drive and reinstall the operating system? Or should I ditch this one and get a new one. All I want to use this computer for is basic Internet browsing, word processing and light gaming (older less good video games). Please help!

It came stock with an Intel Celeron M 520 1.6ghz processor. I know the motherboard is listed from Gateway as " 4006148R - Motherboard UMA w/ATI RC415MD w/o 1394 (FRU) " I know its a 478-pin and has a 533mhz FSB and from what I can see it may take an Intel Dual-core t2060, but if I can would that also be worth it?

heres my setup: pentium D 925 3ghz dual core, 2gb ddr2 pc5400 ram, 200gb hdd (about 80gb free), and a nvidia 8400 256mb video adapter.

games run ok, but i want more. im saving for an 8800, but for now, i want to get this system as fast as possible with what i have. i can overclock the gpu by 100mhz (dont want to heat it up too much, its already pretty warm in there) so its got a 600mhz core with a 500mhz memory clock.

how else can i speed up my system? i only want it faster for games, everything else works fast enough for me.

I bought Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth II a few months ago, and it doesn't work on two of my computers..I went to technical support and for my problem, the main reason is usually a lack of RAM..Where do I get it? So basically I bought a new video card and power supply about a month ago. I actually heard a little screeching/buzzing out of the PSU before, but it went away. As of moments ago its back. I installed new video card drivers from ATIs site, and upon doinging so and restarting the computer the computer wouldn't load passed the loading screen. I couldn't see the log in screen or whatnot, and the computer and monitor just shut off.

So I boot the pc in safe mode and hear this loud screeching/buzzing in the power supply... Any ideas what this could be? The power supply is actually hooked up to the video card. There's a white coord that goes from the end of it to one of the many psu coords.

Anyways, any information on what this buzzing could be would be really appreciated, and if it's linked to my video card drivers failing.
