All notebook work the same.

How long is your warranty last you? That is how long the machine will work fine for you with peace of mind. Anything longer is a bouns.

I have a Fujitsu S7010 that is 3 years old. It never stop working till today.

If you are the type to want the latest in technology, then the notebook should be expected to last until the warranty is expired. Take care of it and it will.

However, if you just use the computer to surf the web, talk to friends, then it can last forever. Notebook manufacturers are all unique and some will last longer than others.

My advice to you is to do what we do at the company I work for. Get a new laptop and use it until the warranty expires and then upgrade. This will offer about a 3 to 4 year life cycle and give you your money's worth.

They should be good for a few years.

The battery will probably only last a few years but the rest of the computer should be able to last a lot longer.
