So basically I bought a new video card and power supply about a month ago. I actually heard a little screeching/buzzing out of the PSU before, but it went away. As of moments ago its back. I installed new video card drivers from ATIs site, and upon doinging so and restarting the computer the computer wouldn't load passed the loading screen. I couldn't see the log in screen or whatnot, and the computer and monitor just shut off.

So I boot the pc in safe mode and hear this loud screeching/buzzing in the power supply... Any ideas what this could be? The power supply is actually hooked up to the video card. There's a white coord that goes from the end of it to one of the many psu coords.

Anyways, any information on what this buzzing could be would be really appreciated, and if it's linked to my video card drivers failing.

See what the wattage is and amps on your +12V rails(will show on sticker on PSU) and see what your video card requires for both. If its a cheap power supply take it back and get a better one. If it meets the requirements for your new video card and is a quality power supply exchange it. Other than fans it shouldn't be making any noise. Screeching is probably a bad fan or a component that couldn't handle the power requirements of your card and it has caused your PSU to overheat.
I assume you are certain the noise is coming from your PSU and not the fan on your video card.

Either you have a bad power supply, or your new video card requires just enough wattage that it exceeds your power suppliy's capability. You need to get a replacement and/or bigger (i.e., more watts) power supply.

Computer power supplies are almost all "switching" supplies, but the switch is not mechanical, and they should not buzz. Replace your power supply.
