Dell uses primarily Intel cpu's and motherboards. Its has been my experience that Intel boards do not allow overclocking. However there is software that can help. Check out the forum here. http://www.overclock.net/intel-motherboards/7297-definitive-answer-can-i-overclock-my.html.

What you want is now SO EASY to do on current PCs that use a retail or enthusiast motherboard. BUT proprietary motherboards on OEM machines typically have no overclocking options or capabilty. Your best option would be to hunt for a bargain Plll-1.0 to 1.1Ghz processor. Used but in good condition, they cost about $12-15.

Usually not, the BIOS options are not there for overclocking a mainstream consumer type computer. You have to find in the BIOS the multiplier settings for the CPU and you will not have that in the BIOS on a Dell.

Can you overclock it?
Yes

Is it safe to do so?
No, if you don't know what you are doing.

My advice:
Don't do it.
