i heard there is a device that plugs in the back that acts like a video card so you can play games on a laptop that cannot have a video card inserted

no .. they do make external videocards but theyre not very fast and wont increase ur ability to play hi-end games ..

Yes, there is.

But only if you have one of the newer laptops with an ExpressCard slot. Its like a PCMCIA slot but much faster.

Check your model number and see if you have it.

The product is Asus XG, it has a GeForce 7900 in it. But its probably expensive.
