It came stock with an Intel Celeron M 520 1.6ghz processor. I know the motherboard is listed from Gateway as " 4006148R - Motherboard UMA w/ATI RC415MD w/o 1394 (FRU) " I know its a 478-pin and has a 533mhz FSB and from what I can see it may take an Intel Dual-core t2060, but if I can would that also be worth it?

It will just be an EXPENSIVE exercise with little or nothing to gain on web browsing, office apps, downloading, MP3 and DVD movies. There might be some benefit for games but 3D apps are more dependent on the graphics card. Only multi-tasking and heavily multi-threaded apps would benefit from the dual core.

Celeron M520 is already a fast single core processor that uses Core2 Duo technology. Better spend your money on other enhancements such increasing RAM or on external peripherals.
