i have windows vista, and everything was working fine until the begining of the week.

If your computer came with software disks, look for a disk for the sound card. Then try to reinstall the drivers and software.

Not enough information.

Basically the operating system no longer see your sound card. If nothing was knocked loose, then someone changed a BIOS setting or you lost power and the CMOS BIOS settings got scrambled and erased. At least those are the possibilities.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, you are NOT good enough to troubleshoot. And attempt may damage your computer. Take it to a shop and have someone else do it for you.
