Is it possible that my power supply unit is burning out my hard drives. I have had 3 new hard drives fail on me now in 14 months. first i got an 80gb hard drive and it lasted 12 months, then i had it replaced 1 day before its warranty expired and that on lasted 2 months then that one was replaced yesterday and the new one has gone today. They all follow the same path. Windows freezing then when rebooting it says Invalid Boot disk blah blah and all they do is CLUNK all the time

Hi everyone,

Recently my dell laptop crashed to blue screen. The blue screen said that windows had been shutdown to protect the computer. I rebooted and did a virus scan...the virus scan was clean. The blue screen then happened last week again! After that thinks have been kind of down hill. When I put the computer in Stand By mode and come back it tells me my resolution has been changed and now the screen is blurry in spots. A friend of mine said it is probably the video card. Does anyone else agree? Could it be something else??

BTW it's a fairly new computer (bought it in November) and I'm running on Windows XP.

I have two Cintre Z-Disc External Enclosures.. I know I am going to sound stupid, but please help me --

Are these not actual drives? I just found out, and it says on the box: "Enclosure Only. Hard Drive Not Included".

What do I have here? Will this serve as a backup drive, or is this JUST a casing for a drive, and I still need to buy a drive?

I was first going to use this as a back up, then my Boss asked me if we could use this as an external hard drive.. I was researching when I realized that it says that it's just an enclosure.

Do I only have a fancy little case for a drive, or is this a drive?

Please help clarify!!

My laptop is less then a year old yet its telling me that my 60GB drive is running low on space? I've installed no games and everything I've put on my HD takes up less then 10GB. How can I be running low on space? What have I been doing that is taking up all this space? How can I open up space without deleting what I have?

Hello Everyone!
My PC has gone into a loop whereby it restarts instantly after the Windows is Starting up Screen. Is it due to virus? If so Is there CD/floppy disk based scanner available?

The system boots to the option list for:
"safe mode; safe mode with; last known good configuration..." (etc)
but it does not matter which option I select, the system restarts/reboots itself. It loads to the point where a flash of "Windows is starting up" but immediately restarts/reboots.

I have just ran a CD based MemTest v3.3 which was from another suggestion- no joy.
I have intensively inspected all connections and location of boards for interconnectivity - testing for any accidental earthing of the mainboard, no joy - and i have sufficient power resources from the psu to supply the system overall (400 Watt)
I have inspected the VideoCard, but then could it be the problem?

BIOS settings are in order (i have tried everything)

Please help!! I don't want to reinstall everything!

i had to do this before a little while ago and it involved turning the computer on and pressing one of the 'F' buttons but i can't remember which one it is....help?!?!?!
it basically puts the pc back to exactly how it was when you buy it and you just have to start all over again.

ok pretty soon the the new C2D are coming out the E6850 will be the best at 3.0GHz 1333FSB 4MB cache but will cost around 250-300$ then the intel price drop #2 will hit the other C2D and the Q6600 2.4 1066 4MB cache quad core will be the same price as a E6850 no which one is better 2.4 quad core or 3.0 core 2 and i have done research and found that the q6600 is not a false quad core it is just 2X E6600 so i guess it is not a native quad core but still 4 cores
