i got a ASUS 12" laptop. It has Intel core 2duo T5500 1.66 CUP, a 512MB built in+a 512MB expandable memory. I have installed both a vista and a xp. running Vista is so slow. Should I remove the 512 expandable and add 1GB(total will be 1.5GB). Will that make a difference. Sincerely

1 GB of RAM is barely enough to run Vista, and the fact that you have space partitioned off for XP doesn't help your case much, but adding RAM would certainly help. If you are running anything equivalent or greater than Home Premium Vista, then you are definitely in need of more RAM. I would suggest also choosing a preferred operating system, it is not ordinary to have two OSs on one machine.

Would it be easier just to run XP. Depending on your laptop you could either add 512mb stick internal to make it 1gb or you can take the 512mb internal out and put in 2*1gb sticks in and then you can run 2gb and that is suitable. 2gb is fine for vista in my opinion.

You need more RAM, always upgrade both sticks of RAM with identical pairs if possible but if the 512 is built in you should look for the largest replacement stick your mobo can support, (probably 2GB), search for RAM on crucial.com.
