I have two Cintre Z-Disc External Enclosures.. I know I am going to sound stupid, but please help me --

Are these not actual drives? I just found out, and it says on the box: "Enclosure Only. Hard Drive Not Included".

What do I have here? Will this serve as a backup drive, or is this JUST a casing for a drive, and I still need to buy a drive?

I was first going to use this as a back up, then my Boss asked me if we could use this as an external hard drive.. I was researching when I realized that it says that it's just an enclosure.

Do I only have a fancy little case for a drive, or is this a drive?

Please help clarify!!

Of course it is an ENCLOSURE. Now, order the hard drive that fits that case. Then format (and partition as you wish). It should be up and running in no time at all.

Is just a enclosure for a drive. You do not have a hard drive with it. Sorry
