Do they make them?? Where can i buy one?

I read that a pentium duo at 1.8 gig or 2.3 gig is faster than a dual core pentium d 3 gig as it has two processors, this means that the 1.8 or 2.3 is double giving 3.6 speeed and 4.6 speeed respectably.

This is not logical to me unless each task that is running is equally split between the two processors on the 1.8 and 2.3 gig duo. The 3gig dual core is always running every process at 3 gig so prove to me that the lower speeds are better.

Thanks in anticipation

Right now I have a Dell Dimension 2400 with okay RAM and okay processor the only thing completely horrible about it is the video card. Are the any PCI video cards that would run WoW on lowest graphics settings. I used to play WoW with the lowest settings until BC came out and my video card won't work with WoW anymore.

Its a Dell Inspiron 6000

-512 Ram (my biggest worry)
-Pentium M Processor 1.73GHz
-ATI Mobility Radeon X300 (128MB)

My broadband should be fine.
If you have similar specs and have played World of Warcraft please let me know how it went.

Cheers

I have a Dell Dimension 2400. Is there anyway for me to make the graphics card better? My friend told me that integrated graphics use memory from my comps RAM. Could I increase the amount of memory the graphics uses from the RAM? Are there any graphics cards out there that would work with my comp?

My laptop recently died on me, so I took out the hard drive and put it in one of those enclosers. I was having no trouble at all transferring data to a new external hard drive, until I got to my music folder. Everytime I try to copy a file or folder it says
"Cannot Copy - [file so and so]: Access is Denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write protected and that the file is not currently in use."

Which, they aren't! Every other file on the drive I can access but my 15 gigs of music. What do I do?

I want to reduce the wideness, because I know in several Desktops you are able to do that since it has buttons in the monitor.

So what do i click, because I have a widescreen computer and i want to make the wideness of it smaller inside the screen.

Hi i have seen an 80gb portable usb hard drive on ebay, it says it comes with '1 x USB Cable with slipped USB ports' and on the picture it has a mini usb and also on the same lead are 2 usb plugs. Can anyone tell me what this means? Do i have to plug in 2 usb ports on my computer to run it?
Thanks

I have been living with my daughter in Hawaii and am using a Dell printer which is out of ink. Will online vendors be able to ship some cartridges to Hawaii?

My graphics card just crapped out on my tower PC. I am not sure what cards are compatible (if i need a PCI or AGP slot, etc.). If you could tell me how to find out what I have on my computer through commands then I can figure it out by myself (pretty computer literate, just been a few years since I ave had the time to really mess with it). I also would like to know a good graphics card under the $200 range. I have no preference between GeForce or Radeon so either should do. I have 2 gig ram DDR1 with a 2.0gzh board, intel pentium 4.

I should also mention that I play games, not too many, but like Counterstrike Source and BF2, so I would prefer a card that could run those games at a decent framerate, or at least the best I could get for the cheap price I have to work with.

After you post, be sure to check up as I will edit with any new information I get.

Thanks.

i thought to improve the graphics and the performance for videogames i'd need to install a better graphics card. I bought a new pc and on the description online it says "The 1 GB of installed RAM (PC4200, 2 x 512 MB, 533 MHz) is a fine start, but you'll want to add more RAM to handle today's demanding multimedia and gaming software."
What is that mean? a video card wouldn't do anything? should i install both ram and a video card?
